Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Desi Allinger-Nelson is an entrepreneur as a designer, artist, and seamstress. She is a true classic - think Old Hollywood glamour meets 21st century fashion. A timeless silhouette updated for modern appeal. A bold but polished style that turns heads and speaks to uncommon sophistication. If Desi were a shoe, she would be a sleek, black, paten pump with a bright applied bow at the ankle.
Desi recently graduated from The Academy of Art University (May 2014) with a degree in Fashion Design. She debuted her first collection named "Tie Line", women's wear of halter tops, shorts, skirts, leggings, and dresses made from discarded men's ties at her first runway show for RAW Natural Born Artists on June 19. To view Desi's RAW profile visit www.rawartists.org/desidesigns.
Desi's next runway show for RAW will be August 21 (same time, same place) in Portland featuring her "Tickle Time" lingerie collection. Tickets will be available for this show after June 30, 2014.
Desi's other current projects include her Topsy Turvy doll line, a replica doll from the Civil War era being sold at the Gettysburg Heritage Center and throughout the Pacific Northwest; and First Communion dresses.
Desi's future projects include a French Victorian doll collection, a French dress collection for women and girls, and a painting series named "Poppies."
