Rose+Matt: Mod marrying Trad
Matt G. was really excited about his personalized plan for an updated living room, designed by Desi (read his story). He just had one little “problem”: his brilliant, beautiful wife, Rose.
Opposites attract…
Rose is open-minded about color, so her preferences on that front were pretty compatible with Matt’s desired bluescape.
But the similarities ended there:
In terms of style, Rose and Matt were basically opposites:
Her favorite, by far, is Traditional — which Matt had told Desi he dislikes
And as for Matt’s favorite, Mid-Century Modern? “Meh”, according to his wife…
In terms of materials, Rose loves lots of leather whereas Matt said the ideal amount of leather for him would be “None.”
The couple’s preferences diverged dramatically.
It seemed that perhaps to live with the person he loved, Matt might have to live in a space that he hated…
A huge gulf stretched between their ideal aesthetics…
